Only a minute off the motorway (M74), the Annandale Arms Hotel offers you a truly warm Scottish welcome. Set in the centre of the attractive and popular village of Moffat, you can enjoy the tranquility.
We have a first class restaurant serving the best of local produce, from Buccleuch Estates beef to organic lamb from Glen Ken. Our salmon, trout and scallops are as good as Scotland gets. The cellar boasts some 100 bins with a selection of 50 malt whiskies. The hotel's convenient position in the centre of the village, but with its close proximity to the countryside, makes it a perfect base to explore the hills and glens of historic southern Scotland. The imposing Georgian façade encapsulates all that is best in traditional Scottish hospitality. This has been recognised formally by the award of the Les Routiers Gold Key 2001 for 'hotels who achieve a level of excellence above and beyond that of merely 'very good''. If you wish to visit Edinburgh or Glasgow, they are both only one hour away by car.

The second floor of the west wing has recently under gone a major refurbishment. While retaining all the original eighteenth century character the bedrooms have been skilfully brought up to twenty-first century standard. Decorated in a modern contemporary style, all the rooms have a bath or genorous sized shower or both. All the rooms over look our private courtyard at the rear of the hotel ensuring a quiet night. The beds have pocket sprung mattresses for maximum comfort. So wake up in the morning refreshed with a beautiful view over the roof tops of the village to the distant hills of Annandale, as the church clock gently becons you to a hearty Scottish breakfast.
We have an intimate formal restaurant as well as serving meals in the bar. We pride ourselves on using the finest local produce such as the best quality beef from the Buccleuch Estates guaranteed to be hung for 21 days to give you a real taste that is hard to beat anywhere. A lot of effort has been put into finding local Scottish suppliers of the right quality so that you can enjoy the only the best.
Moffat lies one mile to the east of Junction 15 of the m74/m6 motorway to Glasgow on the a701 Edinburgh Road. Take care when approaching Junction 15 from the English side, as the sign posting is very poor and the turning is on a left hand bend. It is easily missed if you do not concentrate. The Annandale Arms Hotel is situated on the western side of Moffat High Street that forms the central square of the town. There is a large car park at the rear of the hotel for exclusive use of the guests. The entrance is through the archway on the left hand side of the hotel.
